La China Sonidera is a cumbia band from Oaxaca, Mexico. Formed in 2010, the group is known for blending traditional Latin American sounds with a modern, vibrant, and universally infectious style. Their music is inclusive, featuring rhythms that transcend social classes and borders—both physical and cultural—inviting audiences everywhere to connect through dance and celebration. 

La China Sonidera reflects the eclectic and multicultural spirit of the city of Oaxaca. The traditional figure of the “China Oaxaqueña” inspires the band’s identity, representing feminine strength, festivity, and cultural pride within Mexico’s contemporary tropical music scene.

La China Sonidera has brought its distinctive sound to audiences throughout Mexico, performing across Oaxaca’s Central Valleys, Coast, Mixteca region, Sierra Mixe, and the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The band has also appeared at major international events, including the Cervantino International Festival (2023 and 2024), and has toured several cities in Belgium. In addition, they represented Mexico at Expo 2020 Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. In 2025, La China Sonidera continues expanding its international presence with performances in the United States, particularly in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
